What it does
A production gallery, minus the gallery
Broadcasting a backgammon match normally takes a vision mixer, an audio desk, a graphics operator and somebody who knows the score. This is the same job done by one person on one machine, because the match itself is driving most of it.
Multi-camera capture
Every camera the machine can see, captured at the format you choose rather than one the app picked. Compressed frames pass straight through to disk where the camera offers them, so a long match does not cost a re-encode.
Pan, tilt and zoom
The table camera is driven from the same window as everything else — no separate remote, no vendor utility running alongside. Presets for the board, the players and the wide shot.
Multitrack audio
Take the channels you want from the interface you already use, named the way the desk names them, recorded as separate tracks. Commentary and room sound stay separable after the fact instead of being mixed down forever.
Overlays that follow the match
Score, cube, pip count and match length come from the match being played, not from somebody typing them in between rolls. Nothing to keep in step, and nothing to get wrong while a game is going on.
Recording that survives
Written as it goes rather than assembled at the end, so a machine that dies mid-match leaves a file that still plays up to the moment it stopped. A tournament recording is not something you get to do twice.
Straight out to the world
Stream to YouTube, Twitch and the rest, or up to GammonBase so the match lands in its event with the archive and the analysis attached to it.
What it needs
Windows, and a machine with a real GPU
Windows is not a preference here — the capture stack is Media Foundation for cameras and encoders, WASAPI for audio, DirectShow for camera control and Windows Graphics Capture for window sources. Compositing runs on the GPU, so a discrete one is what separates a comfortable show from a hot laptop.
